No. There are no accounts and no passwords. Your records live on your device and, if iCloud is on, in your own iCloud account.

Yes. Students › Add student. Each child gets a color and an animal picture or a photo, so little ones can find their own list.

On the first screen, tap “I've used HomeSchool Scribe before” and choose the backup file you exported, or sign in to the same iCloud account and wait a minute for the records to arrive.

You haven't made a course yet. Tap “Add a course” right there in the sheet, or go to the student's page › Courses › + first.

Yes. In the course editor, under “Teach together with”, check the other students. It shows once on Today under “Together”; checking it off once checks it for everyone.

Settings › School years › your year › Breaks. Lessons already planned around a new break can be shifted with Plan › Shift lessons.

A course whose lessons have no dates. Today always shows the next one; when you finish it, the next appears. Good for read-alouds, memory work, and anything you do “whenever there's time”.

Yes. In the course, choose Add the book, paste one lesson per line, and the planner spreads them across your days.

Yes, on the phone itself. Photograph the contents page (up to ten pages, in order) and it reads units with lesson ranges, numbered chapters and sections, or a plain list, dropping page numbers and sidebar labels. Dense pages with pictures or tables are harder; if the list looks wrong, paste the contents instead. You tick what stays.

Repeating items that aren't lessons (piano practice, chores, a daily read) live under the student's Routines. They count for time if you give them minutes and show a streak.

Right after you check it off, a row of “took” chips appears under the list: tap the real minutes. Later, open the lesson or the hours log and change the entry. The plan stays as it was.

Tap Log an activity from the + button, or Log time on a child's card. One entry can cover every child: the title, the minutes, and a photo if you like. It marks them present and counts toward hours.

From the student's page › Attendance, mark any day present, absent, or sick. Manual marks override the automatic ones.

It puts a photo, a short video clip (up to 15 seconds), or a note into the student's portfolio, dated and tied to a course if you like. Moments show up in the printed portfolio and in the week's recap.

Yes: “Log time in HomeSchool Scribe” lets you pick a student, minutes, and a course without opening the app.

They should. Check the year and term picked at the top of Records; a term filters the report card and attendance to that stretch.

Per course: points (enter earned and possible on graded lessons), categories with weights (tests 60%, homework 40%), a grade you enter for the term, pass/fail, or narrative with no grade at all. The transcript uses what each course is set to.

High-school courses with credits and grades, weighted and unweighted GPA, test scores, activities, and signature lines. Switch it to all years for a K–12 record.

It drafts one from the grades and attendance on the card, in plain words, and you edit or replace it before it prints. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Every report you generate is also saved to Files, under On My iPhone › Scribe (the app's short name) › Reports, in a folder for the school year and named by child, report, and date. They are yours to keep, whatever happens to your plan.

No. These are plain-language planning summaries, reviewed against the law, and every one links to the source. Confirm with your state or a homeschool legal organization before you file.

Never. It prepares the document and opens the state's site in Safari; you file, and you copy the confirmation back into the app.

No. Moments, sharing, and everything else stay with the parent.

iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions › HomeSchool Scribe. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs out as paid.

They stay on your device, stay readable, and can still be exported. Nothing is deleted. Reports can be generated only on a paid plan; any report you already generated can be saved off the app as a PDF and kept forever.

Yes. With Family Sharing, one Scribe Plus plan covers everyone in your Apple family, so your spouse doesn't buy it again. Family Sharing shares the purchase, not the records. Records sync only between devices signed in to the same Apple Account, so a phone on a different Apple Account keeps its own separate records.

Apple handles refunds under its own policy at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue them ourselves.

Make sure the phone is signed in with the Apple Account that bought it, then tap Restore on the plan screen. If it still fails, email us with the receipt date.

Media: a folder per child with every photo and clip, named by date and title, with the caption beside it as a text file. Reports: a folder per school year with every report you generated, named by child, report, and date, plus the current attendance, report card, course list, reading log, and transcript kept up to date. Backups: a dated copy of every record as a plain JSON file, plus a read-me explaining the folders.

Yes. Settings › Where your copies go lets you point any of the three folders at a folder of your choosing, iCloud Drive included. The app's own folder is the fallback if that folder ever goes missing.

The Backups folder is a real, dated copy of your records that the app can read back. Keep the whole HomeSchool Scribe folder somewhere you back up, and the record of your school years survives the phone, the app, and the company.

Your records stay readable and exportable, your photos and reports stay in Files. Checking off, logging time, adding photos, and generating reports wait for Scribe Plus. Nothing is deleted, and Settings shows the date your 14 days end.

No. The start date follows your Apple Account, so a reinstall or a second device continues the same 14 days.

Your records are still yours to read and export. Subscribing again turns recording and reports back on; there is no second free period.

In the app's database on your device, and in your private iCloud database if iCloud is on. We never see it.

It is already out. Files › On My iPhone › Scribe (the app's short name) holds Media (photos and clips, one folder per child), Reports (every report you generated, by school year), and Backups (a dated copy of every record), refreshed every time you open the app. Records › Save everything now refreshes them on the spot, and Records › Backup › Export everything hands you the JSON to send anywhere.

Both need the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on for HomeSchool Scribe (Settings › your name › iCloud › Saved to iCloud). Give it a minute on Wi-Fi with the app open on both.

Only you enter information about them, and only you can share anything. Student Mode collects nothing beyond the check marks a child makes.
